Togolese President Faure Gnassingbe has called on the opposition to join a power sharing government. However, the opposition has refused, saying Mr. Gnassingbe's election win on April 24 was massively flawed.

The results of the vote triggered violent clashes between security forces and the opposition that killed dozens of people. Mr. Gnassingbe was sworn in as Togo's president earlier this month, replacing his father who died in February after ruling the West African nation for 38 years.
