London Bombing Suspect to Appear Before Judge

The first suspect formally charged in connection with the failed July 21 bombing of the London subway is expected to face a British judge Thursday.

Police say Ismael Abdurahman allegedly withheld information that could have led them to those suspected of carrying out or planning terrorism.

Police initially arrested him on suspicion of harboring a suspect one week after the attempted bombing.

A total of 14 people are now in custody in connection with the failed attack, including all four bombers.

One suspect, Hamdi Isaac, was arrested in Italy. Britain has formally requested his extradition.

A prosecutor in Rome told Italian radio that extradition could take weeks while authorities investigate whether Mr. Isaac committed any crimes in Italy.
